Northern Illinois Chapter Highlights

  • Leadership Transition: Following the January 2026 chapter elections, the new board was annouced on February 2nd, 2026 and officially sworn in on February 4th, 2026 by the Honorable Beatrice Santiago, Circuit Court Judge and NACOPRW NIL member.
  • First Quarter Event Highlights: On March 20, 2026, the chapter hosted its first major celebration, honoring local Caregivers and a Business Leader. The event served as a high-impact networking opportunity and scholarship fundraiser, bringing together chapter committee members and leadership, local elected officials, community-based organizations and prospective new members.
  • Strategic Outlook: Building on the success of our March event, the board is now shifting its focus toward strategic planning for the remainder of the year. Our priorities center on fostering inclusive leadership, driving membership growth and retention, and refining our organizational vision during a two-day retreat this Fall. We are also proud to announce a new pilot initiative: the Youth Advisory Council. This youth council is designed to engage young Puerto Rican girls, empowering them to play a vital role in shaping our chapter’s future initiatives.
